Got up early this morning and ran Lake Shawnee. Wanting to do this every other Sunday. Usually I plan on going with friends but they are 1 for 3 at this point. It’s all good though. I still get my exercise in and it was a great day to get out and move. The wind was a bit stiff again today as it always is at the lake. So I decided today was the day to do the lake backwards (clockwise). Maybe it’s just that I have always completed the lake going the other way but I enjoyed the change. The wind was at my back for the return leg which was a plus. The two big hills didn’t bother me as much as I thought they would. Just took them slow and easy. I put the skills to work that I learned from the month long run club I attended in Lawrence Kansas. Made for a more efficient run today. And I think focusing on my form make the sometimes long run not seem so bad. I think next time I will run backwards again. At least until it seems to get boring and then I’ll switch back.
