Marry Me, Let’s Have a Baby Romance Manga Gets AnimeFesta Adaptation This July

The spicy romantic comedy manga Marry Me, Let’s Have a Baby (Japanese title: Kekkon Shite Kudasai! Kodomo o Tsukurimashō!) by Nanako Sawa is officially getting an anime adaptation.

This upcoming adaptation will follow AnimeFesta’s signature format with two versions: a standard broadcast-safe TV edit and a more risqué, uncensored “complete edition” available exclusively on their digital platform.

This dual-format strategy allows the series to cater to a broader audience while preserving the manga’s more mature content for dedicated viewers.

Love, Marriage, and Unexpected Proposals

The plot centers on a thirty-something office worker who, after a night of heavy drinking, impulsively proposes to a much younger man—asking him to marry her and start a family.

What begins as a drunken dare spirals into a surprisingly sincere romantic entanglement, as the two navigate the emotional fallout, awkward realities, and budding affection that follow.

Rather than shying away from real-life issues like age gaps, marriage pressure, and fertility fears, the story embraces them with humor and heart.

It’s a refreshing twist on the romance genre, targeting a more mature audience while maintaining a playful, emotionally grounded tone.

Cast and Creative Team

The anime is being produced by Studio Hokiboshi, which has worked on numerous AnimeFesta titles. Hideki Araki will direct the adaptation, while Shinobu Tagashira is writing the script.

Character designs are handled by Taihei Nagai, known for his clean, expressive art style that matches the series’ emotional range and comedic beats.

Though the cast has yet to be officially revealed, fans can expect the usual AnimeFesta pattern—separate voice casts for the TV and complete editions to accommodate tonal shifts between versions.

A Romantic Summer for Grown-Ups

With its unique mix of awkward proposals, steamy chemistry, and heartfelt exploration of adult relationships, Marry Me, Let’s Have a Baby is shaping up to be a summer standout.

Whether you’re here for the laughs, the love story, or the late-night version, this series offers something distinct for fans of mature romance anime.
