This is one of the greats, an undeniable anime classic. Every young anime fan in the 2000s knew Inuyasha and Kagome.
Being a classic among isekai that predates the current (thankfully ending) trends, Inuyasha takes place in a fantastical version of feudal-era Japan, with bits of the modern era making the occasional appearance. (This world is conveniently located down a well.)

This show gave us a refreshing return to the feudal glory of early Japan and a title character whose tiny ears proved irresistible to female love interest and costar Kagome Higurashi.
Rumiko Takahashi created a memorable adventure between hunting down Shikon jewel fragments (Shikon no Tama), befriending wolf demons, and other events.
A spinoff series, Yashahime, follows Sesshomaru’s half-demon twin daughters, Towa and Setsuna, and Kagome and Inuyasha’s kid, Moroha
They attempt to connect with themselves and their history as they try to save the world that has fallen into peril yet again.
How Old Is Inuyasha?
This question is difficult to answer when it comes to characters like this one who live for hundreds to thousands of years without aging visuals.
Plus, considering they aren’t human in the least, what information does their age even convey other than the number?
In the official information book from Rumiko Takahashi, Inuyasha Profiles, the creator provides us with a human point of reference for the main character.
Inuyasha is 15 years old in human years by appearance to match Kagome. His chronological age is significantly higher.
There are non-canon or semi-canon sources that cite Inuyasha as 200 years or more due to his fifty years impaled on a tree, thanks to Kikyo.
Many people online seem to have misread the book, stating that it says 19, not 15. This is untrue. While writing this, we consulted a literal copy of the book; it says 15. We promise.
These fan estimates are nothing more than theory, but they’re our best source. Human years, demon years, Shippo years, it’s all a little bit of a mess.
In the spinoff entitled Yashahime, we are pleased to find out that Inuyasha and Kagome have a daughter.
This takes place after the main series; the couple has aged 3 or 4 years by this point, making everything appropriate and good.
Is Inuyasha a Boy or a Girl?
This is a common question. Sometimes anime characters’ long hair, poofy clothing, and ambiguous voices lead us to question the details. We can say with certainty that Inuyasha is a boy.
Evidenced by the fact that he goes on to have a biological daughter with a human woman. (From Yashahime, as we mentioned earlier.)
