12. Shiro, Sewayaki Kitsune No Senko-san (The Helpful Fox Senko-san)

Everybody knows that Sewayaki Kitsune no Senko-san is one of the best kitsune anime ever, and there isn’t much that contests it. So it’s pretty natural that Shiro, the arrogant but friendly literal silver fox is part of this list.

Although she did become friends with Kuroto after a little while, the fact that she treated him as a servant instead of a human she needs to help kind of puts her at the bottom of the best anime fox girl.

Koto from Yu yu Hakusho is actually just a side character in the epic anime series. However, for those who watched the show let me ask you this, have you ever forgotten her? I sure didn’t!

Despite her small role, Koto, the referee, and commentator for the Dark Tournament and the Demon World Tournament. Plus, she’s also somewhat of an idol in the Human Realm!

Due to her age, Chizuru is very bold and straightforward about what — and who — she likes.

She is madly in live with Kouta, and she wishes to enter into a ‘relationship of sin’ with her. She makes her intentions crystal clear by constantly saying suggestive things to Kouta, like a true blue kitsune.

Underneath her 19-year-old physique, Sakura has actually been a kitsune for the past 191 years. Despite her ‘age,’ she does not invite much respect from her own kind.

Due to the fact that she has human ancestors, she wasn’t born with the full nine-tail. Unfortunately, this means Sakura cannot fully use her power unless she finds a powerful creature to consume.

Sakura joined the Police Company after Natsuki’s power, and wit impressed her and convinced her that she would be the best creature to overcome so she can finally grow the last half-tail that will eventually make her a full-fledged nine-tail kitsune.

Later in the story, Sakura gives birth to three mischievous young things, fulfilling her kitsune destiny of being a mother and housewife.

7. Tamamo No Mae, Omamori Himari

Simply called ‘Tama,’ this Nine-Tailed Fox manifests as a small blonde girl who is also one of the three most powerful Ayakashi in Japan.

She’s cute and childish, but don’t fall for it — she’s very powerful and could even devour an entire countryside of Ayakashi to keep her power.

Hers may be just a supporting character, but she demands attention every time she appears on TV.

She doesn’t even have a lot of dialogue as a quiet young girl, but she’s almost always seen munching and crunching on some delicacies, may it be demons or some normal human sweets.

6. Dakki, Senkaiden Houshin Engi

So Dakki is the genius wife of Chuu Ou. Her killer looks and sharp intellect are so over-the-top that she is sometimes referred to as “The Genius.”

Unfortunately, her strong attributes are not paired with a good heart. She is a selfish, evil empress who only cares about herself and her two sisters.

Unlike most kitsune, there is nothing nurturing about Dakki. She enjoys tormenting other people and has even built torture devices in order to break people where it matters the most.

The group respects her because she cares for each and every one of them, whether they be dogs or foxes. Yukikaze, or Yukki for short, is also a good fighter, even in close combat or just by using her bare fists.

Oh, did I mention she’s probably the most beautiful character from this particular series? I dare you to name someone else.

4. Senko, Sewayaki Kitsune No Senko-san (The Helpful Fox Senko-san)

Of course, since we talked about a few characters from this series, it’s obvious that Senko herself would be on this list. Senko, the 800-year old demigod fox girl, literally started the entire storyline.

As the title suggests, she’s just being helpful and decided to one day pop up on Earth to help the suffering and miserable guy named Kuroto Nakano.

It was supposed to be a good deed, and it felt at first that Kuroto was pretty lucky that a deity chanced upon seeing him and whimsically thought it best to help him out. But of course, he learned that it wasn’t free trade at all.

Why? Well, let’s just say with Senko’s interest in Kuroto, several other magical foxes came to him, and not everyone was as cordial as the helpful Senko-san.

3. Yuzu, Konohana Kitan

Out of all the fox girls on this list, Yuzu is simply the cutest and the most innocent one. When she was a baby, she was found buried in the snow. Bikini, a nun whose mind is as sharp as her heart is good, took her in and raised her as best as she could.

Despite holding immense power, she had never used any of it for evil.

However, she is extremely mischievous and would always play pranks on people she is able to smite while disguised as an incredibly beautiful woman in her human form — until all her powers were sealed up eventually.

Her fox form is equally as divine. It’s no wonder everyone falls in love with her at first sight.
