Top 5 Best Fishing Rods in Minecraft

Top 5 Best Fishing Rods in Minecraft

Crafting Fishing Rods is extremely easy, you just need 3 Sticks and 2 Strings, and voila! You now wield a powerful weapon good enough to catch every fish in Minecraft.

But did you know you could even upgrade your fishing capability by adding upgrades? Here are the Top 5 Best Fishing Rods in Minecraft.

Best Fishing Rod in Minecraft

5. Curse of the Vanishing

This is the enchantment you’d really not want to use in any mode except Creative. Using this on Survival or Hardcore mode means you’ll eventually lose this fishing rod once you die.

It’s perfect in a community server where PvP is allowed, and everything is bound to end.

I would say using this fishing rod creates realism, but it’s highly inadvisable to use this except if you’re really trying hard to roleplay.

4. Mending

Mending is an enchantment that’s usable for most of the wearable items and utility as an upgrade.

This enchantment is extremely rare, and it’s not really recommended to use this for a fishing rod because, let’s be honest, it’s quite a waste to use Mending in this item, except for weapons and armor.

A fishing rod with Mending means that EXP orbs you’ll get will be absorbed by the fishing rod to repair its durability gauge.

Again, not really recommended for regular play, especially PvP-enabled servers, unless you’re running solo.

3. Lure

Lure is an enchantment that decreases the downtime in catching fish. Basically, what the Lure does is decrease the time it takes for a fish to be caught.

Lure is extremely useful, especially for Hardcore, where everything will try to kill you.

The faster the yield of fish, the better. There are three (3) levels in this enchantment, and maxing this out means you’re almost guaranteed to catch fish every second, which means you’re gonna get around 56-62 fish per minute.

2. Luck of the Sea

If you’re gonna spend your time mostly in the sea, you’re gonna be using this fishing rod enchantment a lot.

Luck of the Sea is an enchantment for a fishing rod that will increase your chances of getting treasures from your catches, which means that you’ll be able to farm items from bows up to enchanted books.

Its chance is increased further to a maximum of 6% once you maxed out the enchantment levels that it requires.

Why is Luck of the Sea good? Well, suppose that you fished for 10 times, right? In those 10 attempts to get fish, you’re gonna get one of the treasures 60% of the time. Which is great, right?

1. Unbreaking

What makes Unbreaking good is the amount of durability you’ll be able to save a lot of time using this enchantment since it extends the durability or the lifespan of your fishing rod.

For the most part, you’re trying to survive inland and not on the water, so the good thing about Unbreaking is that it’s easily accessible and it’s not rare to get.

It’s useful and saves you an enchantment like Mending, which you can use on your other items, like Bow or Sword, and it doesn’t eat your EXP orbs.
